Located near the intersection of Highway 99 and Highway 198, Visalia is the oldest town between San Francisco and Los Angeles, and indeed is the Crown Jewel of the San Joaquin Valley.

Today, far from being "all-Ag," Visalia is a diverse community offering a range of opportunities, including a community theater, an active downtown dining and shopping scene, and plenty of chances to "get back to nature," thanks to the close proximity of Keweah Oaks Preserve, Sequoia National Park, and Kings Canyon National Park. Sequoia, in particular, is noteworthy for its dramatic landscape, which includes Mount Whitney, whose 14,494-foot summit makes it the highest peak in the contiguous United States.

Visalia provides the laid back atmosphere of a small town while providing the access to some of the best outdoor recreation activities California has to offer.
